This image was inspired by a holiday in Barmouth, North Wales, catching our dog sitting on the beach taking it all in. Tessa is looking out towards the sea, enhancing a sense of solitude and contemplation. The beach features a mix of sandy areas with yellow ochre hues lending the image a vivid vibrancy with the glowing light of the sun, a vibrant warmth and optimism. The long grassy areas are layered in an experimental dabbing sort of way to create a blade like sharpness and mottled effect. We were invited to spend an additional sunny day in the attic at a B&B in Barmouth. Gary kept knocking the little square window and so we fed him English breakfast. The gull stands on a gold-toned surface that depicts the lovely warm sand, with the waves of the ocean stretching out behind it. The expansive blue sky blankets the scene, contributing to a harmonious and peaceful atmosphere, enhanced by the rich color palette.
