Poppies have a poignant place in our collective memory. Since the First World War, the red poppy has become a powerful symbol of remembrance, honouring those who lost their lives and reminding us of the human cost of conflict.
In Serenity, I wanted to place these evocative flowers in an entirely different setting.
Here, the poppies spill freely from a beautifully patterned blue-and-white jug, their vibrant red petals contrasting against the deep, tranquil darkness. Beside them sits a delicate teacup, suggesting the simple pleasures of an ordinary, peaceful moment.
The contrast is intentional. The same flower that carries memories of war and sacrifice is here celebrating life, beauty and peace.
Perhaps that is what Serenity means to me: recognising the fragility of life while appreciating the quiet moments we are fortunate enough to experience

There is something magical about a Greek island at sunset—the whitewashed buildings glowing softly against the deepening blue of the Aegean, while the last warmth of the day settles over the sea.
Sunset Hues was inspired by this enchanting combination of colour, light and architecture. The winding steps lead the eye down through the little whitewashed houses towards the shimmering sea, while the blue domes and vivid bougainvillea add splashes of colour to the warm evening palette.
I wanted to capture not simply the beauty of a Greek island, but that fleeting moment when daylight begins to surrender to evening and everything seems softened by golden light.
