Mumala’s Wir (Grandfathers Sky)
Acrylic/Moulding Paste
150 X 300 X 4 cm
In Wiradjuri art, every symbol carries meaning. Traditional weapon symbols — like boomerangs, nulla nulla’s, spears and shields — aren’t about conflict. They represent protection, strength, survival, and the role of warriors as guardians of Country and community. They tell stories of resilience and responsibility.
Flowing lines and earthy tones map out Country — rivers, tracks, gathering places. Circles often represent camps or meeting places, reminding us that home is not just a structure, but a living connection to land, ancestors, and story.
There’s a deep feeling woven into my style of art — a sense of belonging. Of knowing where you stand. Of being held by Country. It speaks of connection: to land, to mob, to culture, and to spirit.
Wiradjuri art isn’t just visual — it’s emotional. It’s memory. It’s identity. It’s home.

Balang Balang (Double boomerang)
Acrylic/moulding paste on canvas
120 X 120 X 4 cm
Two boomerangs. Different journeys.
One you throw.
One comes back.
The other?
It doesn’t return — it travels forward with purpose.
Boomerangs aren’t just symbols of return. In many Aboriginal Australian cultures, they represent skill, precision, survival, and deep connection to land and story. Some were designed to come back. Others were tools for hunting, ceremony, and protection.
That’s the power of two boomerangs:
One reminds you that what you send out — energy, words, love, intention — eventually returns.
The other reminds you that not everything is meant to circle back. Some things are meant to move forward, create impact, and clear a new path.
Growth is knowing the difference.
Wisdom is choosing which one to throw.
What did you send out this week — something to return, or something to transform the path ahead?
