1st part of Triptych. "Rich in gold, but peaceful," Posidonius.
Golden leaves, acryl, soft pastel
50 X 70 X 3 cm
"Rich in gold, but peaceful," Posidonius. This is how the Helvetii of the end of the 2nd century BC were described by the Greek historian.
Helvetii (Latin Helvetii) — a large Celtic tribe that inhabited the northwestern part of modern Switzerland.
The tribes were engaged in animal husbandry, mined gold, lived in houses on stilts, were able to process metal, spoke their language, and had their coins and religion.
Thus, the first main picture of the triptych from a large series of works devoted to the history of Switzerland depicts a stone: raw gold. In it, we can see the ancient buildings on stilts standing in the lake, in which the Helvetians lived and which have survived to this day. The tribes did this to have more land for pastures or, according to another version, to protect against wild animals.
The artist uses a hand-made color only.

Accidentally applied this technique of glazing while doing one of the previous works, applying a thin layer of gray paint on a bright blue color, thereby creating a shadow. I liked this effect, and I decided to continue the experiment in another work. The result is this painting - a portrait. I got the image of a woman - a riddle, a particular lady in a hat, in a crinoline, with her head slightly lowered forward. She walks towards us, holding up her green dress so as not to trip, fall, or just see where to go. Or maybe the lady is curtseying to greet us.

Mixed Media

This is a real view of Haslital valley from the hill where Rheihenbach waterfall is situated. Not in vain, the famous English writer Conan Doyle was amazed by the beauty of this waterfall so much that described it in his detective story Sherlock Holmes. Fighting between the detective with Professor Moriartyi was this place.
Silver leaves are an art feature of this painting. I used bright colors with silver leaves to express the fresh spring wind and the brightness of the colors of the landscape.

Time and life series. These are inseparable concepts. We measure life by time and divide life into time periods, into moments of life. The painting depicts a symbol of time: an hourglass, abstractly in the form of a figure that appears in the universe as in eternity. This is about eternity and infinity of life and time, about understanding time in a global sense. A golden ring is depicted around the hourglass - this is the Milky Way, along which a person walks throughout his life.
The art critic said: ‘Such iconography sets the stage for the importance of another key element in the artist’s artwork: the rigor and simplicity of geometry in art. A painter such as Piet Mondrian, for example, had exceedingly approached this theme through the square; while Kseniya, in her innovative and abstract vision, depicts two triangles (which become pyramidal solids) with its three perfect sides (an extremely crucial number on a symbolic level) and a circle of the life, interposed between the aforementioned forms.’

Time and life series. Moments of life are called this picture. Human life consists of different moments: joyful, complex, calm, responsible, bright, exciting, important, and many others. An hourglass in the form of a discordant vase of roses or a glass of cherries again measures the passage of time. Not harmony, it's not haste, time goes quietly.

Mirrors
Handmade Acrylic colors, putty

Since ancient times, magical properties have been attributed to the mirror. The mirror was a double of a person, his face and soul. A broken mirror foreshadowed misfortune, and death. So, in the normal state, it was a metaphor for human life. But, in addition, it was believed that the mirror knows everything and can reveal to a person what is unknown, hidden from him. The mirror helps a person to understand himself and the whole world. This is the truth, a human mystery that cannot be fully unraveled. The mirror is the memory of one person and all mankind.

Life is changeable, changeable, and largely depends on us, but not always. We do not want grief and troubles, or illnesses, but they happen in our life. Difficult times happen in the life of every person, and they are always replaced by good events. The painting "White Stripe, Black Stripe" from the "Time and Life" series depicts alternating white and black stripes as a symbol of good and bad events in people's lives. Dominoes are the possibilities of a person to live his life, to put it together in the best possible way. Dominoes form an X shape - the same hourglass that measures the passage of time.

This is something that we have especially lacked in the last few years. First, there was a Covid test. And we learned to live in limitations - personal and state, under the same roof 24/7 with relatives for some relationships became a test of strength. And also without the ability to travel beyond their country. It was more about personal boundaries and limitations. After the events of February 2022, it seems to me, that the question arises about self-determination, who we are, what we can or cannot, want or not, and why, what is our moral choice.
Regardless of the choice, it is necessary to maintain a sober mind, and this is impossible without disconnecting from the flow of news and information. Once, while spending time with the children in the swimming pool, I saw our bright pink ball floating serenely on artificial waves and felt peace and tranquility. Peace and tranquility to you!

The Ocean
Textile
21 X 19 X 1 cm
Artist: Ludmila Korets.
According to the artist, "fine art is the ability to create an image, not to depict something." Here is an artwork of the ocean: we look through a giant eye at a ship that sails with full sail, placed in a compass with geometric coordinates symbols. A similar philosophical and poetic nature of creativity was found in Rene Magritte, who referred to his work as "magical realism". In the painting "False Mirror", the artist depicted a close-up of the eye. Its iris is depicted by the author as a bright blue sky with white clouds floating across it - a symbol of wisdom and spirituality, and its endless journey along the heavenly dome is the path of spiritual perfection and personal growth. We look into this giant eye, which displays what the person in front of him sees right now, at this very second. This is what he enjoys. This is what draws an image in his head when he looks at something or someone.
In the painting by Lyudmila Korets, through a giant eye, we look at the ship pupil, as a symbol of wonderful hopes, pure dreams, and love. The ship is framed by an iris compass with coordinates as symbols of personal success. These are the landmarks of a person in his successful voyage in life. Black and white performance only enhances the effect of the image and gives a clear desire to move towards new horizons and victories. Air, space, and movement - the three tasks that the artist sets for himself are clearly visible in this artistic composition. We look at the ocean with wide-open radiant eyes, mentally following the ship to our dreams, feeling the sea breeze and the sound of the waves.

The Martian
Textile
15 X 15 X 2 cm
"Fine art is the ability to create an image, not to depict something", consider the artist Ludmila Korets. The artist created the image of a girl - sweet, delicate, and unearthly beautiful. What is she thinking about, being in all eyes and so calm? Perhaps: "I am far from you, but you are close and nice to me." Contact is made. We look at the girl and try to understand where she comes from. We experience similar feelings when looking at Salvador Dali's painting "Galatea with Spheres".
The image, created by the famous surrealist artist, catches the eye and makes it impossible to remove a gaze.
The image of the girl, created by Lyudmila Korets, is made in a balanced palette: pink, white, flesh, and light green are completed by blue, yellow, red, and orange accented in details. The girl is depicted among fantastic flowers and light spheres that illuminate the entire space around her, creating incredible color transitions. The background shimmers with pink pastel tones and shades. The blue light emanating from the flowers dyed the girl's hair blue, the yellow highlights from the spheres are also present on her hair, and her eyes are illuminated with yellow light. Rays emanate from the girl's hair and body. It seems that the very heroine of the picture radiates warmth, light, and kindness. The feeling of freedom, serenity, and featheriness does not leave us. Air, space, and movement - are the three tasks of the artist. Performed.
"She's just like us. Just far away": we think, looking at the Martian.

Winter
Textile
14 X 19 X 2 cm
Winter. Dazzling winter, bright, and snowy is presented in the embroidered painting by Ludmila Korets in the style of geometric abstraction. Ice crystals sparkle with all the colors of the rainbow on a silver background in the form of circles. Like Wassily Kandinsky, in his painting "Several Circles", the artist deliberately limited himself to only one form - the circle and focused all his attention on such aspects as color, mass, and their relative position in the space of the canvas, which determine the composition.
For Kandinsky, the circle is not only a geometric figure but a kind of universal guide to another world. This closed figure, having neither beginning nor end in form, connects us with this world. Thus, Kandinsky presents the combination of circles of different sizes and colors as a combination of infinities, something cosmic and absolute. The artist found in the circle everything he was looking for: space, tension, and strength. Kandinsky's circle has sound. This is not even a circle, but a creature endowed with an inner voice and character. Simple geometry, thanks to Kandinsky, takes on a soul.
The snowy background is silvered in the painting by Lyudmila Korets. Snowflakes-atoms fall, catch up with each other, and sparkle in the sun. "Fine art is the ability to create an image, not to depict something" - the main artistic principle of the artist. Here is the image of winter on a clear and frosty day, when all around is dazzling sparkling snow and everything is flooded with sun. And we don't see anything practical around. The only snow that sparkles in the sun, floating in the air. Air, space, movement - the three tasks that the artist sets himself are fulfilled.

Night
Embroidery
15 X 15 X 2 cm
Night. Lunar night and clear is presented in the painting by Lyudmila Korets in the style of geometric abstraction. The moon illuminates the path with a silvery light. Round clocks measure time by highlighting the period of the dark time of the day as a sector.
"Everyone knows that the ball is a symbol, by means of which, already in the distant, distant past, people expressed the most secret secrets of the universe. When the ball was freed from sacred meanings, it began to be widely used in the art of the 20th century to this day. But it has been used it is already in terms of a game experiment, where the artist, as it were, discovers the secrets hidden in the shape of a ball, <...> People have always sought to find out what is hidden behind the surface of an object, and for an artist, for example, another ball is often hidden behind the shell of a ball, the principal nesting doll or womb.
The artist uses this principle for various incarnations, seeking to express the tension or secrecy of one form in another in a kind of sculptural intrigue," says world-famous artist and sculptor Mikhail Shemyakin in his study "The Ball in Art".
The painting by Lyudmila Korets depicts a circle, which itself is a symbol of time - a clock, and another spherical object is placed in it - the full moon. The background, also known as the clock face, is painted dark blue. The hands of the clock singled out the dark period of the day into the blue sector, cutting the night almost like a triangle, but at the same time without violating the integrity of the clock circle itself. Air, space, movement - three tasks, like three whales, are invariably set by the artist in each created work and successfully completed in this work. A complex Passepartout, consisting of many circles superimposed on each other, complements the picture with new shades: yellow and blue and continues the perspective, scattering the moonlight with rays. "Fine art is the ability to create an image, not to depict something" - the main artistic principle of the artist. The image of a moonlit night is clearly presented in the picture.

Handmade Acrylic colors.
50 X 50 X 1.2 cm
The painting is called Autumn Gold. The palette of the picture is really autumn: deep green, brown and rich pink, bright red, gold, olive, and ocher. A flower made in the style of geometric abstraction is placed in the center of the composition. The outer side of the petals is made in lighter tones, and the bud itself and the inner side of the leaf are more saturated. The artist did not close the background of the canvas, leaving it in natural color.

Color Games
Drawing
41 X 32 X 0.1 cm
The graphic work "Color Games" by @annalageda, made in red pastel, is a sketch from the artist's life - a quiet family evening. The boys calmly play while looking at the phone, illuminating their faces with the screen's blue light and creating a gray shadow on the objects. Imagination takes us further: Dad is doing his own thing somewhere, pets are sleeping or walking, and Mom is painting.
There is light and warmth in the work, one feels the calmness and comfort of a family evening. The images of children are made just in the manner of "non-finito" ("incompletion"), the details are not drawn. The background is not closed at the edges, the color of the paper complements the created images and also enhances the unfinished style. The work is bright, but soft pastel hides the bright red color and creates a noble shade. The excellent gray color in the shadows superimposed on the red takes on a warm brown tint. This property of pastels attracts masters of painting, namely, the nobility, purity, and freshness of color, the velvety surface of the texture, the liveliness, and the exciting vibration of the stroke.
