Daze in Morning
This photo was taken on a morning walk in New Zealand. I think my mind was as hazy as the landscape until I looked out on this scene. Something in me woke up that day.

Still Here
Photography
We all have facets of ourselves we try hide, or ignore. We are not always successful. From the "Still here" collection, this image is meant to evoke fierce emotions rooted in agony held within. In this series I worked hard to capture many hidden feelings. To create this project I experimented with light, model poses, and use of fabric. The lights I used, along with the poses were meant to create drama in the composition. This dramatic take of inner thoughts is covered by a thin fabric which represents the "mask" that people often wear while coping with such deep emotions.

Brurfoss
photography

Iceland's beauty, my camera. In this photograph I tried to capture the sites of Brurfoss's hidden waterfall. I focused on leading lines to show the flow of water. I developed my craft of trying to capture the vast array of blues, contrasted with the fall colors of the background.

Those Halls
Film Photographs in Digital format
10 X 8 X 0 inch
Are you as lost as me? In this composition I used a B&W film camera to capture a hallway I pass through everyday. The image is intentionally flipped with the ceiling on the bottom, and the floor on the top. This meant to represent the disorientation of not knowing your way (in a figurative way) even in the most recognizable places.

Minnesota Summer
photography
8 X 10 X 0 inch
In this photograph I tried to depict the chaos of the "typical Minnesota Summer". I focused the photograph showing the construction lights/ barricades in an angle the elevates them, to represent the immense impact of construction during this season. I also timed my photograph to be taken when all the construction lights were on to bring more of a chaotic vibe to the photograph. This photo was taken with a low quality point and shoot camera. I made this choice to push my knowledge of photography by testing what a "good subject" looks like with low quality equipment.

Thinking
photography
8 X 10 X 0 inch
What are you thinking, does it look like this? This composition is meant to represent creative thought. Smoke represents creative thought that flows outside the barriers of logic. The marbles sitting at the bottom of the glass represent only thinking with logic and becoming stuck. In this series I modified the objects and smoke until my composition was what I wanted for the meaning. The smoke was the hardest piece to control and get correct.

She was as kind as she looked. Capturing the soul in a portrait is an exciting process. I am not one to work on portraits often as I feel that if the portrait does not reflect the person it is not complete.
