Bio
Chiara Dominique Daum was born in 2003 in Offenbach, Germany.
She’s a self taught artist, coming from a very creative family, where art had always been something that was supported strongly.
In her early practice, she used to draw animals and faces, always fascinated by how we, as humans, perceive the world around us.

In 2020 she first started working with oil paints, making her first few paintings about her own emotions, trying to process her depressive episodes and her eating disorder.
Suddenly how she felt became more meaningful, heavier, richer.

After Grade twelve, Chiara left the school early, due to her anxiety attacks. Two years later, she realized that university wasn’t the right thing for her neither.
In 2023, when her boyfriend at the time got addicted to drugs, she got back to painting and started focusing on improving both her art style and her techniques. Once again, painting had become something that helped her cope with what happened around her.
Her great aunt, Eleonore Elfers who is in artist herself, used to have an art school and used to be an art teacher, influenced her development strongly.

Today in her practice, she explores what had fascinated her from early on: emotions and the influence they have on us as humans.
How they guide and lead us, break us and let us grow.

Her work is about connection and where it´s lacking, perceiving what is often hidden, looking within ourselves and noticing what is there.

Listening when your world gets quiet.
