About me Artwork
Bio
Upon graduation in 1972 from the Byam Shaw School of Art in London studying painting, I emigrated to Australia and have lived in Adelaide ever since.
I taught art for a number of years but I spent thirty years involved with contemporary dance, the last ten as director of my own company Lift Dance Theatre where similar themes to studio work were explored,. Each year I created original full-length works to debut at the Adelaide Fringe Festival. I also lectured in film making, wrote a number of novels and continue to write articles on art which are published on my website on a weekly basis. I returned to painting in the 90s after a hiatus in the 80s which was devoted to producing welded steel sculpture, something I still pursue on a smaller scale alongside the major works in wood. I built the current studio Vanilla Sky in the Adelaide Hills above a river valley seven years ago after decades on the plains.
