Raffi Bashlian's photography is an eloquent symphony of resilience and the intricate tapestry of human experiences. With roots deeply embedded in the vibrant cultural landscapes of San Francisco, London and New York and now thriving amidst the artistic allure of Paris, Raffi brings a worldly perspective to his art. Raffi's craft is infused with a unique synergy of scientific precision and emotional profundity. His dual expertise as both a clinician and researcher imbues his visual narratives with a depth that resonates powerfully with viewers. The dynamic contrasts he witnessed during Lebanon's civil war—the interplay of destruction and renewal—serve as a profound backdrop for his evocative storytelling.
Through his discerning lens, Raffi invites audiences to uncover the hidden beauty in the mundane, fostering a profound appreciation for the elegant simplicity and intricate complexity of life. Each image he captures acts as a poignant testament to survival and growth, revealing stories of transformation amidst adversity. His focus on metamorphosis inspires hope and nurtures resilience in those who engage with his art.
Raffi’s work transcends traditional photography; it crafts an immersive tapestry of cultural narratives, intertwining threads of shared humanity. This artistic approach creates sanctuaries for viewers to connect and reflect, celebrating the essence of life and reminding us that every moment, no matter how ordinary, holds the potential for an extraordinary story.
With a diverse and award-winning portfolio that spans a multitude of genres and styles, Raffi's journey as a photographer was ignited by a life-altering safari in Africa in 2013. From capturing the regal grace of wildlife to the architectural elegance of cityscapes and the vibrant pulse of street scenes, Raffi has developed a keen eye for seizing unique moments that tell compelling stories. Through his work, he beckons us to appreciate the understated beauty in the ordinary and discover hidden treasures in unexpected places, reminding us of the beauty that surrounds us, waiting to be celebrated.
Armed with a profound understanding of composition, timing, and gesture, Raffi is naturally drawn to the symmetry and balance in his subjects. As a passionate formalist, he relishes the nuanced possibilities of black and white imagery while being equally enraptured by vibrant colors and minimalist expressions. For Raffi, photography transcends mere image capture; it’s a journey of seeing the world anew and expressing his distinct artistic voice. Each photograph reflects his unwavering commitment to revealing the beauty and complexity of everyday life, inviting us to explore hidden treasures in the most unexpected places.

Circle Foundation for the Arts was created in 2017 and functions as an international arts platform. Our office is based in Lyon, France but we function internationally. We annually represent a unique, juried selection of visual artists in our online gallery. Although many artists apply for membership, our goal is to maintain a small and exclusive selection of Featured Artists.
Circle Foundation provides a platform for the active fine artist, orchestrating the development of a variety of visual arts projects and open calls. Our goal is to provide a stage for the artist, who can implement it as a forum to publish, exhibit, win grants, awards and titles and to boost their resume while also becoming established within a notable network.
