Time´s imprint
Oil and acrylic on canvas
59 X 59 X inch
In this work, Javier Esmeralda transforms Montañita into a psychological territory rather than a geographical one. The Street of the Eternal Dream does not simply portray a place, but the accumulation of memories, excess, encounters, and emotions suspended in time.
The town’s structures dissolve into fragmented faces, symbols, and bodies that emerge as emotional traces of those who have passed through this universe. The central street becomes a passage between reality and inner experience, while the composition expands through layered visual rhythms charged with movement, chaos, desire, and permanence.
The work captures the contradictory energy of Montañita: a space of freedom, transformation, and human erosion, where time seems to dissolve inside an intense and collective experience.

Gaia
Acrylic on canvas
63 X 55 X inch
Gaia explores the human figure as a living ecosystem shaped by memory, emotion, and collective experience. Through layered fragments, symbols, and intertwined forms, Javier Esmeralda constructs a portrait where identity dissolves into a dense network of psychological and emotional traces.
The figure emerges not as a fixed individual, but as a vessel containing multiple histories, relationships, and states of consciousness. Vibrant colors and continuous visual movement create a tension between vulnerability and transformation, suggesting the constant reconstruction of the self through life experience.
In Gaia, the human body becomes territory: a space where nature, instinct, memory, and emotional intensity coexist within a single expanding universe.
